Professors Klaus Dieter Thoben and Walter Lang’s visit to Khesar Gyalpo University of Medical Sciences of Bhutan (KGUMSB) took place from the 7th-13th October, 2023.
Upon their return to Thimphu from field visits in Punakha, Wangdi and Bumthang, the President of KGUMSB granted an audience to the professors in the morning hours. During this meeting, information were shared on the progress of the ongoing project activities and discussion held on exploring scope for future collaboration between KGUMSB and Bremen University, Germany.
The afternoon session started with a brief presentation about, KGUMSB, university quality assurance system, overview and update on SSAPI project, followed by presentation on Nursing and Midwifery program by the Deputy Dean of academic affairs. The KGUMSB SSAPI project team also shared their accreditation documents, which were refined as a part of the SSAPI project, and critical feedback and recommendations were received from the professors based on their extensive experiences from European higher education perspectives. The participants included academic and management staffs including deans, and deputy deans from the constituent and affiliated faculties/colleges under KGUMSB.
